Drug Uses
Transderm Scop is used to reduce nausea, vomiting, and dizziness linked with motion sickness. Transderm Scop is an anticholinergic medicine. Anticholinergics have many effects in the body. For instance, they reduce the emission of fluids, slow the stomach and intestine, and expand the pupils.
How Taken
Transderm Scop comes as a patch to be positioned on the skin at the back your ear. Relate one patch to a clean, dry, hairless area behind the ear. The patch should be applied at least 4 hours before its effects will be needed. Each patch is good for 3 days. At the end of 3 days or when the Transderm Scop patch is no longer needed, remove the patch and throw it away. Wrap the patch in tissue or paper to avoid exposing anyone else to the remaining medication. Wash your hands and the area behind your ear thoroughly to remove any traces of Transderm Scop from the area. If a new patch needs to be applied, place a fresh patch on the hairless area behind your other ear.
Warnings/Precautions
Before using this medication, tell your doctor if you have kidney disease, liver disease, an enlarged prostate, complexity urinating, bladder evils, or glaucoma. Transderm Scop is in the FDA pregnancy category C. This means that it is not known whether Transderm Scop will harm an unborn baby. Do not use Transderm Scop without first talking to your doctor if you are pregnant. It is not known whether Transderm Scop passes into breast milk. Do not use Transderm Scop without first talking to your doctor if you are breast-feeding a baby. Transderm Scop is not suggested for kids use. Kids are much more responsive to the side effects of scopolamine.
Missed Dose
Remove the old patch as soon as you keep in mind and be relevant a new patch to the same area at the back the other ear. If it is roughly time for the next dose, skip the missed dose altogether. Never get a double dose of Transderm Scop.
Possible Side Effects
Stop using Transderm Scop and seek urgent situation medical notice if you experience an allergic reaction (difficulty breathing; closing of your throat; swelling of your lips, tongue, or face; or hives). Other, less grave side effects may be more likely to occur. Carry on to use Transderm Scop and talk to your doctor if you knowledge drowsiness; dry mouth, nose, or throat; restlessness, excitation, nervousness, or insomnia; blurred vision; dizziness; decreased appetite, nausea, or vomiting; difficulty urinating; or an irregular or fast heartbeat. Nausea, vomiting, dizziness, headache, and poor organization have been reported when treatment lasting more than 3 days is discontinued. If you use Transderm Scop for more than 3 days, be aware that these side effects may occur when you discontinue. Side effects other than those listed here may also occur. Talk to your doctor about any side effect that seems unusual or that is especially bothersome.
Storage
Should be stored at controlled room temperature between 20°C - 25°C (68°F - 77°F).
Overdose
Seek urgent situation medical attention. Symptoms of a Transderm Scop overindulge include drowsiness, dizziness, agitation, excitability, seizures or convulsions, hallucinations, and death.
More Information
Use caution when driving, in service machinery, or performing other hazardous behavior. Transderm Scop may cause dizziness, drowsiness, or blurred vision. If you knowledge dizziness, drowsiness, or blurred vision, avoid these behavior. Use alcohol carefully. Alcohol may increase sleepiness and dizziness while you are using Transderm Scop.
